Thordon Bearings has employed Anthony Hamilton as its new technical director.
Reporting on to CEO Anna Galon, Hamilton will lead Thordon’s engineering, CAD and new product growth groups.
“We are delighted to welcome Tony to the Thordon household as we look to strengthen the company’s product portfolio in existing and new markets,” said Galoni. “Tony is a seasoned solutions-based chief having held senior technical positions in the marine, power, nuclear and manufacturing industries over the past 30 years.”

After shifting to Canada and finishing a Masters in Design and Manufacturing Engineering at McMaster University, he spent 10 years at Siemens AG in Hamilton, Ontario, then labored in the nuclear industry with Atomic Energy of Canada and Kinectrics Inc. He went on to determine the engineering consultancy Sthenos Consulting.
Hamilton’s appointment is part of a company-wide restructure at Thordon Bearings that also sees Michael Skrzypczak named international service & assist (GSS) manager.
“For greater than 20 years Skrzypczak has been visiting Thordon Bearings as Lloyd’s Register’s Senior Surveyor in the Ontario area so he is very familiar with our manufacturing, designs and quality management processes,” said Galoni.
“Michael’s understanding and experience with marine techniques and shaft bearings will be an invaluable asset to the Thordon GSS network, which has expanded in current times to cover more than one hundred key ports, and shipbuilding and restore hubs all over the world.”
The restructure also consists of promotions for Jeffrey Butt to business growth supervisor – Navy and Coast Guard; Jason Perry to regional supervisor – North America; and Yves Silva to regional supervisor – LATAM. In addition, Danny Caffa has been appointed business development supervisor – Marine (EMEA); and Heiko Pohland enterprise improvement manager – Marine (Asia/Pacific).
“I have been working very closely with my senior administration team to develop and implement Thordon’s strategic goals constructed around our core strengths and environmental objectives,” stated Galoni. “We have made, and will proceed to make, appreciable investments in individuals and capital tools to develop our enterprise.”
