Orders for dual-fuel LNG vessels broke all data in 2021 with a complete of 240 ships globally. That is greater than the earlier four years mixed. And growth looks set to continue unabated in 2022.
According to knowledge from classification society DNV, orders for 56 dual-fuel LNG vessels have been positioned in January and February.This change in demand has created quite a buzz at Svanehøj. The Danish marine pump specialist quadrupled sales of its patented deepwell gas pumps in 2021, and there are many indications that sales might enhance even additional in 2022.
Svanehøj has simply secured an order for gasoline pump systems for 15 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (7,000 TEU), which are to be constructed at Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding. The whole of 30 deepwell fuel pumps might be delivered from August 2022 to January 2024. The order is among Svanehøj’s largest regarding LNG fuel to date. It is the second time within the last yr that this customer has chosen Svanehøj as the provider of LNG fuel pump techniques. In July 2021, they signed a contract for deepwell pumps for 10 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (15,000 TEU).

Large investment in lean manufacturing and new gear
To support the green transition of the maritime trade, Svanehøj is at present investing more than DKK 10 million in upgrading its manufacturing services in Denmark. A new factory structure with manufacturing cells and robotics will assist Svanehøj’s formidable development strategy and reduce lead times for all products.
“We have made a strategic determination to implement lean manufacturing. By rethinking our processes, we expect to increase productivity and capability by as a lot as 50%,” says Mikkel Bülow Bundgaard Sørensen, Lean Specialist, Svanehøj.
Svanehøj has entered 2022 with a brand new technique and a goal of doubling its turnover to DKK 1 billion ($152 million) by the top of 2026.
