Rotork has been working with BAE Systems to improve a sequence of A-range actuators to IQ3 actuators which operate penstocks controlling motion of ships between the ocean and transitional locks and dry docks at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).
A sequence of A-range actuators had reached the tip of their operational life after lengthy service in a challenging setting. BAE Systems wished to retain all the advantages of electrical actuators, so IQ3 actuators had been chosen. เกจวัดแรงดันแก๊สlpg needed to be specifically adapted by Rotork to beat issues around confined areas and difficult access.
IQ3 actuators and IS gearboxes were mechanically tailored so that each actuator and gearbox could be operated by hand without coming into the confined house. Rotork designed particular hand auto levers and thru drive mechanisms for the actuator and gearbox to get rid of the necessity for confined area access.
Actuators inside the IQ range are watertight, providing ingress safety to IP66/68 at 20 m for 10 days. They have a complicated dual stacked display with configurable data logger functionality, and an absolute place sensor supplies reliability and accuracy.
