Partners set to scale access to solar-powered irrigation solutions in Senegal

Following a profitable pilot venture, InfraCo Africa, part of the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), has signed a Shareholders’ Agreement and a Loan Agreement with Bonergie Irrigation SAS (Bonergie Irrigation) to proceed supporting the size up of the venture.
Under the new agreements, InfraCo Africa will maintain a big minority shareholding in Bonergie Irrigation, committing an extra US$2.four million to substantially scale up farmers’ access to high quality irrigation solutions in Senegal.

Access to solar-powered irrigation solutions will exchange existing diesel pumps, providing farmers with a more sustainable answer to addressing the linked challenges of climate change and food security.”
The agreements signed at present will see the commissioning, sale, installation and maintenance of at least 2,000 additional pumps over the subsequent three years.
